On 22 July 2012, at the Long Sault Area., The Seaway Lighthouse 3rd Rail Modular Club, owner Rudy Tabak, organized the First Annual Seaway Train Show. Toy trains enthusiasts and die casts collectors from Pembroke, Montréal, Kingston, Whitby, the USA and surroundings areas invaded the arena the whole weekend. For the first year it was unbelievable. Children had the opportunity to see Thomas the train and enjoy a set up of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry environment, with special effects from the popular Harry Potter's novels. The show also showcased various train gauges from various train clubs and live steam demonstrations. Visitors had the opportunity to purchase train memorabilia, toys as well as train/ airplane and farm related art. The show consisted of 41 vendors and train clubs. The event was also a fundraiser to help Parade of Nations for the developmentally challenged of Akwesasne Cornwall and SD&G. The event was extremely successful and all 41 participants have already booked for the 20th and 21st of July 2013, as ell as additional ones. So expect 2013 to be real big. The information for the 2013 show is already being distributed across Akwesasne, Quebec, Ontario and the State of New York. Please note The Seaway Lighthouse 3rd Rail Modular Club, provides free of charge train demonstrations for any non-for profit organizations wishing to hold a fundraiser in the areas mentioned previously.
