Parade Of Nations For The Developmentally Challenged is pleased to inform you that its 2015 Multicultural Festival/Arts and Crafts Show will be held on 17th & 18th October 2015 and your Community is cordially invited to participate in the event.

Multicultural Festival 2015

  • Parade of nations is looking for ethnic communities who would like to introduce their country of origin.
  • The event is on 17th (11 am to 6 pm) & 18th (11 am to 4 pm) October 2015 at the Cornwall Civic Complex, in Salons A, B and C - set up 16th October 2015.
  • There is no charge for exhibitors, who will be provided with one table (3'X8'), two chairs, the country's flag (to view the flags, visit www.paradeofnations.com - nations and groups) and a sash with the name of your country for the morning daily parade around salons.
  • There might be an opportunity to obtain flyers and country information from embassies stationed in Ottawa.
  • It is also an opportunity to win a trophy for the most subjects (list below) countries' representatives display about their country; the presentation is also important (colourful/overall presentation).
    • Teaching people how to say: Hello, Thank you and Welcome
    • Country's currency
    • Picture of the alphabet, if it is different
    • Picture of the geographical location on a continent
    • Some artefacts/jewellery, etc...
    • Pictures of the national flower, animal, sport, costume and dish (recipe), inventions, famous people, etc...
    • Wearing of traditional dress (regalia/ national costume)
    • Places/landmarks to visit in the country
    • Anything you can think of.
  • An opportunity for performers of your ethnic community to promote themselves during the show and receive an income tax receipt - as a gift in kind - for their performance.
  • An opportunity for people of your ethnic community living in Cornwall or SD&G, with artistic talents - all disciplines, to promote themselves permanently free of charge, on the Parade of nations 's website under ''Arts sponsors''.
  • An opportunity for vendors (art, artefacts, jewellery, private business from your ethnic community to sell their products during this event. Tables (3' X 8') are $25 each for the two days. Space is limited and will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
  • A great opportunity for students in need of community service hours.
  • Individuals participating get a certificate of appreciation, as a memento of their participation.

Please note, no one is allowed to sell food since "La Cusine Volante" has the contract with the Cornwall Civic Complex.

For event planning purposes, Tuesday the 28th of August 2015 is the deadline.
