We've heard it said over and over "You can't turn back time,'' but Cornwall's Lost Boyz may make a fairly convincing argument to the contrary. The musical group together for slightly over a year now pay tribute to music from a decade best known for it's loud colours, big hair and it's direct association with having a good time. THE 80's .
Within the ranks of the retro act are local boys Rodney Bard (Drums, Percussion and Sequencing) and Kelly Heenan (Lead Vocals). If the pair sound familiar, you may remember them from their previous ensemble Superstone who had built a sizeable following in the area. Also on board are Montreal's John Douglas (Lead Guitar and Vocals) a steady force on the Montreal scene. His last outfit Gimme 5 were crowd favorites in the city and were chosen to play at several high profile corporate functions throughout their run. Rounding out the band is none other than Mr. Stephen Murray (Bass and Vocals) born and raised overseas in the country known as Wales a member of several British touring and recording acts. Stephen was also a member of local favorites Rub Salt.
Since it's formation, the Lost Boyz have been bringing it's memory evoking brand of music to very receptive audiences at each and every stop. A key to their success can be attributed to the fact that they cover all the bases, it's not simply Rock, it's a hit after hit regardless of genre. From the dance synth groove of "Relax" by Frankie Goes to Hollywood to the hard hitting rebel anthem "We're Not Gonna Take It" by Twisted Sister and everything in between. Pop, Rock, New Wave, Glam. They've placed no limitations on themselves.
From day one the band went in with one goal and that was to create an atmosphere that could only be defined as fun and they continue to strive to make this a consistent theme. The dance floor is the place to be if you're out at a Lost Boyz show, each night is a non stop party!
The band encourages everyone to come out and let the music transport you to a simpler time filled with great memories and by nights end, the hope is you've created new and lasting ones.
