IROQUOIS - After its grand opening in 2008, the French Cafe on English Road has come a long way to become a venue for house concerts for acoustic artists from many walks
of life. Mario Pronovost, owner of the cafe, takes his time to find the perfect performers to play on his small stage.
"We invite artists from wherever to perform in the cafe,'' he explained. "It takes a while to find an artist (and we) take the time to study and promote (them). We love to take the time to search and discover (new) artists.'' The Cafe has also been the home of many guests who have visited the venue to see some of the performers.
Pronovost explained that he has had people visit from all over Canada, including Vancouver, Montreal and Quebec City as well as from all over the world including New York City, England and Portugal (among many others). "Since the beginning, we had the privilege to have around 500 people come to our place (from all over the globe),'' said Pronovost.
