It promises to be quite a summer for Caitlyn Acheson of Cornwall. The energetic 17-year-old girl has turned her love for dancing and his internship in an opportunity that only happens once in a lifetime because it rubs shoulders with the great of this industry in Los Angeles, at the end of July. If all goes well, perhaps she will be noticed.
C. Acheson and Studio C, her dance troupe of Cornwall, recently had an Ottawa competition at the regional competition "Kick it Up" with dancers from the Capital Region and Quebec. The judges have so appreciated her performance she got the "Hollywood Summer Tour" random two-week visit to Los Angeles where she will rub shoulders famous Hollywood icon Debbie Reynolds, the dancer from So You Think You Can Dance, Courtney Galiano and attend the television series Extra syndicated with a famous host, Mario Lopez. Not bad, is not it?
"We, the people of Cornwall do not believed to have no chance against the people of Ottawa and Quebec," stated C. Acheson in her first competition in Ottawa. "However, three of Cornwall received scholarships to travel to Los Angeles. ยป
C. Acheson practice dancing for about 10 years and adds that her love for music and the theatre begins to bring fruit. "I'm really excited. I can continue to do what I love "; said the young student of 2nd year of the Second Holy Trinity School. "I want to be noticed. Dancing is my passion and I want to continue for very long. " Even if things do not go as she had hoped, C. Acheson says that the dance will always be part of her life.
"I love musicals," she said. "So if I do not become a dancer there or if I'm not in music videos, I know there is a place for me on a stage somewhere." C. Acheson left for her two weeks odyssey in Hollywood on 23 July.
