While some artists used a more traditional form of media such as oil, acrylic, or water colours to depict an image, Carole Jeghers was found using regular, white bathroom tile and a candle to make her pieces. As she wiped off her example from the tile with a wet Q-tip, she explained how she makes a masterpiece. By turning the tile over the tip of the flame of the candle, a black substance was created on the tile. Then, by taking household items like a tooth pick, a design was made in the black.
After a basic design is created, the next step is to paint and finish with a top coat of spray varnish. Jeghers found out about this style after her son showed her his project. "I had to try it.'' she laughed.
