he may only stand three feet tall, but local author Adams has big ideas.
Adams was born in 1977 with a rare bone disease called a Morquio Syndrome and has spent a lot of her life undergo medical procedures. In an effort to help anyone else who might have similar issues with their health, Adams sat down with pen in hand to chronicle the first 20 years of her life.

"There are so many things I could tell you about the book. I've yet to master how to describe it.'' said Adams. Adams said she included little glimpses of what it was like growing up with the disease without getting into details.

"I mostly focused on medical. But I did include glimpses of other things going on," she said. "I didn't want anyone who would read it to think I was
always in the hospital.''

Adams called the book Mommy When Can We Go to Church? Based on the question she would ask her mother every Sunday morning. "I wanted to go to church. I wanted to know who this God was everyone kept talking about,'' said Adams. "My subtitle is My Walk to and With God. It's basically my journey to God.''

Adams said she wrote her book more like a journal than a story and focused on medical issues and how she became the person she is today with her
faith. She also includes family anecdotes with her siblings and parents.
"This book is based on my perception only," she said, adding she didn't name anyone else in the book.

"If I do mention someone, I used a title or made up a nickname for them. Just in case my memory is a little distorted, no one can call me on it!' Adams said she has sold quite a few copies of her book and was told by her publisher she made more money than most authors would make selling their books on their own.

"I just got a call this morning from Prince Edward Island who wants to buy my book directly:'' said Adams."Up until 10 years ago she was living in Morrisburg and she met me in 1981 and she said she has never forgotten me.''

The book can be purchased at Amazon and she is selling her book directly for $25. If you are looking for a copy of the book, check out Jaime Adams on Facebook. Adams said she wants to attempt to write more books including one fiction novel and maybe even another chronicling the next 20 years of her life.
