Cornwall - We're really looking forward to coming for a local musician, who left town years ago to Pursue his career, coming back to Cornwall to play is always "magical," and now even more so, with the announcement of his upcoming performance at The Port Theatre, later in April 2015.

''It's a coming-home, full-circle-thing," said Paul Deslauriers, accomplished Rock/Blues guitarist, who is very pumped about bringing his act to the iconic building. ''Ask s a kid, who didn't go to The Port to see movies, it's been there forever.

Long-time acquaintance, Larry Sylvain, now co-owner of The Port, had previously extended engagement invitations to Deslauriers, who is thrilled that he and his band were finally able to work out a mutually available time.

"I haven't been to The Port for Years, so I'm looking forward to it. It's going to be a flashback experience. I think, the last time, I may have taken my mother there to see something and we were the only two people in the place."

Deslauriers has not been, since major renovations to the beloved landmark have been completed, making it a premier venue for live music in the city. He and his band are surely in for a pleasant Surprise.

"We're really looking forward to coming back. Every time we come to perform in Cornwall, it's very special for me, it's my hometown, I grew up there and there's always something special, magical every time I come home.'' The electrifying trio will be performing material from The Paul Deslauriers Band album and more. 'Just rocking and rolling for the good folks in Cornwall.''

Deslauriers and his band have been very busy touring their last release (self-titled) and recently returning from the Maple Blues Awards in Toronto where bass player, Greg Morency, was named top blues bass player for 2014.

Deslauriers and his drummer, Sam Harrison, were also both nominated in their category. Deslauriers took home the award the year prior, along with acoustic act of the year. The band is currently nominated in six categories for the upcoming Lys Blues Awards for Quebec. They will be touring Ontario, Quebec and BC for the next couple of months, and will be in Omaha, Nebraska in June and other summer festivals to be announced.

The next Paul Deslauriers Band CD is in the works, and will hopefully be released by the end of next year.

"We're concentrating on breaking out internationally with the band, in Europe and the U.'' said Deslauriers. "We're just spreading the gospel in the old school way, just getting out there and playing and playing.'
