The pleasure of laughter

Hearing the laughter in his voice when he ends his sentences, it appears clearly that Fredrik Larivière is a teenager who crunches his life to the fullest. The young man loves to give himself challenges and discover new passions.

"I'm the type who likes to watch a film about karate and then want to start doing it," he told The Journal during his telephone interview. The 16 year old student at La Citadelle High School and resident of Cornwall, indeed seems to be passionate. "I like to try new things and if I am lucky, I will never say no to new challenges," he said.

It has also raised a whole new challenge earlier this year, when he participated in the final of the competition LOL, an initiative of the French Canadian Association of Ontario Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (ACFO -SDG), in partnership with various organizations including the Rendez-vous de la Francophonie and l'École nationale de l’humour of Montréal.

"One of my professors, Eric Parent, prompted me to participate. I saw the posters around the school and I decided to put in my candidacy, " told the student.

While the competition LOL represents its first steps in humour, Fredrik is no stranger to the performance on stage.

"I did some improvisation for a few years, but I was looking for something new to try last year (school). That's when I told myself that I could participate in the contest. This year I played in the school play, also a comedy, " explained the teenager.
