Founded in 1999 under the artistic and educational direction of Mrs. Jane Macmillan,
the school is happy to offer ballet classes, creative, and character for girls, boys, youth and adults.

The Cornwall School of Dance's mission is to:

  • stimulate interest and joy of dancing for youth
  • strength body building
  • creating the apprehension of the movement in relation to time, space, energy and music
  • learning techniques bases
  • introducing gradually chorographical enchantments
  • developing personal discipline

Currently a dance teacher with the Ottawa Dance Academy in Gatineau (Québec), Ms. Macmillain has thirty-five years of experience in different countries (England, Canada and the Central African Republic). She is known for her creative and firm approach. She received her training at the Legat School (Russian system) and several internships in Canada and England with the system of the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and recently at the École Supérieure de Danse du Québec in Montreal.

The studio of The Cornwall School of Dance is at the Kinsmen Centre, 8 Second Street West, Cornwall. Parents are invited to see their children evolve in class in technical sequences and choreographic and creative elements at the end of the fall semester and at the end of the school year.
