Q 1. What is your summer company? My business is Reel Thing Productions. I do film and sound recording with high end equipment, everything from corporate videos to weddings and special occasions. My ideal customer would be a business looking to profile their services, or events. Locally there are a great number of small businesses and organizations that could use a promotional DVD of their business or organization. I also record local musicians and bands and can even make radio/TV jingles.
Q2.How did you find out about the Summer Company program and how did you come up with the idea for your Summer Company? I found out about the Summer Company program through the local media and the idea just seemed natural since I've always been working on this kind of thing.
Q3. Why did you choose the name you chose? There are a lot of people using sub-standard equipment and their final product turns out rough and grainy. With our excellent equipment and unique creativity our end results are Reel/Real guess you could say the proof is in the pudding. I have already been booked for a number of projects and a number of production companies like what they see.
Q4. Did you have any prior experience related to your Summer Company? Yes, I have a great amount of time and experience on stage and have done some work in film and television. What makes this business unique is the simple fact that there are not many people in our community who have a professional High Definition camera. And those that do, charge an exuberant rate for their services. Also being that I have a good background in drama, and have walked away with many awards, I too feel that I will look at each and everyone of my products with new fresh eyes and a different perspective.
Q5.What are your hopes and dreams for this company after the summer is over? I would like to continue my business after the summer is over. Once I return to school in the fall, I'd like to sell the items online at etsy.com and at the local farmers markets.
