Danielle Vaillancourt, mezzo-soprano, has strong roots in Cornwall. She is the grand daughter of Dorothy and Ron Sullivan. Both have actively participated in drama and music scenes of eastern Ontario. Danielle Vaillancourt studied at the Studio d'Opéra du Conservatoire since 2004 with Adrienne Savoie. As part of the production of the Studio d'Opéra du Conservatoire, under the direction of Esther Gonthier and Olivier Godin, she performed as Périchole in the Périchole Offenbach's Périchole, as Cherubino in Nozze di Figaro of Mozart, as the newspaper seller in Mamelles de Tristan de Poulence , and the old lady in Bernstein's Candide. She has also worked with renowned artists such as Daniel Taylor, Jean-François Lapointe, Agnès Melon, Susie Leblanc and Donna Brown. Danielle Vaillancourt sang as alto soloist in several oratorios in Cornwall and Montreal, such as Handel's Messiah, Vivaldi's Gloria and Bach's St. John Passion. This spring she finished her master in singing at the Montreal Conservatory of Music and will interpreted the foreign princess in the opera Rusalka by Dvorak at the Nuova Opera in Edmonton.
