Thompson Kimberley

Kimberley Thompson is the owner and operator of Right In My Own Backyard; a home based business established in 2011 to develop a line of hand crafted backyard accessories. She chose the name Right In My Own Backyard to put the focus on backyard living with a product line that is functional as well as decorative. But beyond that she also wanted to give Cornwall access to products made right in our own backyard.

Kimberley has always enjoyed creative endeavours; learning to knit at a very early age, she then went on to take up ceramics, decorative painting, quilting and sewing. One of her greatest pleasures was sewing and knitting clothes for her children as they were growing up.

A great many types of crafts have made their way into Kimberley’s life, and she has always found the act of being creative quite therapeutic. After an injury which cost her her job, she subsequently, with difficulty, made a re-entry into the workforce. However, she jumped at the opportunity to make a business out of doing something she truly enjoyed . . . and so Right In My Own Backyard was born.
