Adèle Théoret-Constantineau is exposing solo for the first time at the
Corrid' Art of the Centre Culturel de Cornwall. Watercolours and travel photos, nature especially tinged calm and gentleness. A first adventure with finesse, transparency, fragility and fluidity.
"I've always drawn," explains the artist. "When I was baby sitting when I was young, I always was bringing a notebook and pencil, and I copied what I saw. Then I took courses in college, always in pencil. When I learned that I was sick, I thought it was time for me to use my talents and I have taken courses, including in Brockville. I still remember my first class! The teacher gave us 10 minutes to perform a composition, "says the artist. Adèle also participated in Apples & Arts "I was watching what the artists was doing, I was getting inspired. I learn a lot from others! "
Adèle loves watercolours for different reasons, the first the smell, the paint has a strong odour, also it is easy to transport, I can take it everywhere. And especially for transparency fluidity and smoothness.
Retired since the end of 2010, the artist will be able to indulge
fully to her art. Until now, she painted on vacation, during these trips, and when the inspiration made an appointment during her travels.
Nature especially inspires her "Sometimes I drive, I see a landscape that interests me, I stop the car and I paint." I love summer, the waterfront ... And when on a trip, she captures the moment and the landscapes inspire her. Adèle Constantineau also took a lot of pictures, a source of inspiration for future watercolours.
She may use techniques such as salt to repel paint or tape, a trick to reproduce birch. Adèle Constantineau has been painting for fifteen years. She has participated in several juried exhibitions in the region. Now she teaches watercolor.
At the Friday night opening, many guests from the region came to visit, but also the Laurentians, Montreal and Ottawa. This is a new adventure for Adèle Constantineau that began with the sale of these early paintings!
