Jessy Hart, in front of her painting Pain & Ascension, is one of the New Faces at the Art Gallery (TAG) in Cornwall.

And for Jessy Hart, a nurse with Bayshore Home Health, having art displayed at TAG as part of the first-ever New Faces juried exhibition and art market was a much-appreciated opportunity.

"(New Faces is) good for new artists in the community - (TAG
is) always really welcoming, " said Hart, who considers painting a
hobby but hopes to some day be more active in the field.

Hart was one of the show winners, with the announcements made at the gallery on Pitt Street in downtown Cornwall on Saturday afternoon. Her painting, Pain & Ascension, won in the Creativity and Originality category, and it's actually 13 separate pieces, some made of paper and acrylic, and one piece of it glass and a mirror.
