Destiny Thomas, a 12th grade student from Salmon River won the honor of having her mixed media collage "Truth" chosen as the invitation design.
The exhibit, in its 14th year, is in memory of Norbert Robideau, a well-known photographer, and in honor of retired teacher, Karen
Lamitie - King.
There are four categories for each level: drawing, painting, sculpture and mixed media.
School level will consist of engraved wooden plaques. Art supplies will be
awarded at the Middle School level. Everyone whose work was chosen forthe show will receive a participation certificate.
Two scholarships will also be awarded at this time - Karen Lamitie -King will present her scholarship to an FA senior art major and the Foothills ART Society Scholarship, in honour of retired art teachers, Arnie Sauther, Bougie Ida, Ceil.
Macallister and Linda Crosby will be presented to a senior art major at one of the participating high schools.
The juror for the exhibit is Kief Sloate-Dowden, a Malone born artist and
craftsperson. Kief attended Emerson College where he earned a degree in Film Making.
This exhibit would not be possible without donations from the Robideau
family, the teachers unions from Malone and Chateaugay and support of the art teachers of the participating schools.
