Rising from the Seaway Valley of the 613 - Cornwall, Ontario Canada, EWA: Elite
World Artist broke onto the Canadian Hip-Hop scene in 2009, inspired by Indie Studios Javey Entertainment & EF-BE Productions.
EWA is featured by the charismatic performances of Rye Vicious, Hollywood, Letter J, Preacha, The Freakboy, Yung Mozes, Lil' Diva, Star, MC Toad, Magoo and DJ SA. The eleven member group is comprised of six artists, one hypeman, one live-event DJ and three EWA Kidz that perform at family events. All members of the EWA are affiliated with a musical rights organization such as SOCAN/ACTRA or ASCAP/BMI and are also affiliated with the Songwriters Association of Canada.
EWA commercially released its debut album "Volume One" through digital distribution on iTunes December 15th, 2009 and is currently featured on-OK Radio 3 - Breaking New Sound, Live on Sirius Satellite Channel 86, featured on Commercial Radio, Internet Radio, College Radio and Podcasted around the Globe.
EWA's second album was released in the summer of 2010 and features superb vocals, optimistic lyrics, captivating melodies and bumping basses. The second album also features a track with 3Time Juno Award Winner Choclair.
EWA has performed 50 shows since January of 2009 and was featured on the Main Stage of Cornwall Lift-Off 2010 with the likes of Randy Bachman, Lighthouse, Our Lady Peace and Chantal Kreviazu other EWA headlining acts include Cogeco Winterfest, Cornwall Snow Jam, National Child Day's CPL Concert, Gloucester Fair and the Parade of Nations Festival.
The EWA has gained mega stage experience from supporting act performances for the likes of Choclair, Saukrates, Danny Fernandes, Belly, Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, Royce Da 5'9", Pharoahe Monch, Peter Jackson, Gangis Khan, Sass Jordan and Theory of a Deadman to sharing the stage with Finger Eleven, Amanda Marshall, The Rankins, Leahy, Classic Albums Live, Liza Minelli and Natalie McMaster.
EWA has worked closely with 613 area charities and schools, through live performances and fundraising initiatives EWA has helped raise $18,000.
"Feed the City" initiative, spearheaded project through live performance fund raisers and the release of a collaboration album with net proceeds going to the Agape Centre of Cornwall; Choclair took part in this project with music production by Kardinal Offishall.
EWA hosted a "World Vision Haiti Benefit Concert" that raised $4,000. "Spirit of a City" initiative; donated an unreleased song for a collaboration album with proceeds donated to the Cornwall Community Hospital.
Live performance fundraising for the Parade of Nations Foundation A Light in the Tunnel Program for developmentally challenged individuals; With standout tracks like "Make It Monkey;' "Stand Strong'; "Memories" and" Reckon This" don't be surprised if you find EWA: Elite World Artist on the edge of mainstream success before long.
Evident to the band's focal point on touring coast to coast in 2010. EWA delivers a complete entertainment experience that is artistically profound and showcases some of Hip-Hop Music's hottest and most diverse artists in Canada. Through Summer 2010, Elite World Artist has been vigorously working on there much anticipated Album before 2011. Album name yet to be released.
